There are some posts that just write themselves. Finally, I've been happy with a Mexican food restaurant in Madrid, Lulu Taco Bar. Thank God. Check out the pics and go visit them! An incredible blend of authenticity, modernity, retro art and charm with tacos and flavors of D.F. and beyond.
Housemade margarita (100% agave), fresh, cool and delicious without being overly alcoholy
Zucchini flower taco with melted cheese, 2.50€
Veal's tongue with cilantro and onion, 3.50€
Marinated and roasted pork "al pastor" burrito with pineapple, 9.00€
Mango con crema agria, literally mango with sour cream, however it was a unique sweet/sour taste I hadn't tried before, a blend of condensed milk with fermented milk and a liquid texture
There was also a large selection of mezcals, vegetarian options, a myriad of taco fillings that could be adapted to burrito sizes, other desserts and appetizers that tempted our hunger pains. However, I can guarantee that we will return to try the whole lot. A wonderful find in Madrid and a welcome place to spend an afternoon or evening with friends. Full menu here.
