I'm sure you all know this, but healthy can also be delicious as well as beautifully presented. Just take a few glances at my photos from lunch at Olivia Te Cuida and you'll agree. A restaurant in Madrid's neighborhood of Alonso Martinez, created by two sisters, Esther and Marian whom come from a background in fashion, but were searching for something more. It's the kind of place that screams "cool," almost a spitting image of what I imagine every What Katie Ate photo shoot looks like; locals, foodies, fashionistas, hipsters and french bulldogs, all eating organic grains like quinoa and salads with mint - things we love but don't so often do at home. The space is minimal, slate and grey color palettes on the walls and tables are perfectly hued with the vintage toaster and silverware. The food pops from the cracked, yet acceptable ceramic, and I'm transported to another city, another memory, another food world - homemade, nutritional, made with care, Olivia Te Cuida, Olivia takes care of you.
Breakfasts, lunches, meriendas - as in coffee and desserts - are available, as well as catering and even the option of renting the entire restaurant (roughly seating 15 people) for your dinner party. Take a peek at their seasonal menu, here.
